As you can probably determine from the photos on this page, the system is really quite simple. There is a base unit which get’s plugged into a wall outlet and then one more connection to the telephone line into any existing telephone jack. That’s it for the simple installation.
Your system is monitored by our 24-hour professional operators who once they receive a signal from your system, begin to respond to the person who is in need of assistance. The “call” can be initiated by either the button on the base unit or by the small writband or necklace one button pendant. Once either button is pressed, the connection is made to our central station operator, next they will begin to communicate with you over the base unit which has a 2-way voice operation. (Meaning the operator can hear you throughout your home and you can hear them throughout the home.) It is at that point where the person in need can tell our operator what kind of assistance they require.
Many times an assumption is made that the system is only in place to have EMT’s or medical personnel respond to the home, however when communication is initiated if you’re in need of help after a fall, or in need of getting down the steps and for example can have your neighbor assist with that, then the person in need simply can state this to our operator simply by speaking into the air. Our operators will remain on the call with you until assistance is complete, and will contact whom you wish for assistance. (Typically a pre-determined contact/call list we obtain at setup. If for any reason no communication can be established with the person in the home, it would be at that point the operator considers this an immediate medical emergency and will dispatch the appropriate authorities for your area.
Our systems cost nothing for setup; a small monthly fee of $29.00 per month is all that is required. We do not charge for setup, telephone connections, or any of those hidden fees you might come across with other companies. Your billing can be setup to be auto paid from a checking/savings account or credit card. You may pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
